Second star to the right and straight on till morning.

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Silver Screen.”

I think I’ve quoted Peter Pan in one way or another here a number of times.

I like the thought of not having a care in the world and never growing old.

It’s probably just that.

I miss the days where I don’t have to worry about anything.

Anything at all.

“Cut off one head and two more shall take it’s place”

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Undo.”

I’m guessing this one’s a little like time travelling and causing a ripple in the continuum which changes everything in the future which is always hard to decide on.

I mean there are a lot of things that I want to change but every bad thing (or bad thing in my opinion) also has a good effect, two sides to everything.

Everything that’s happened eventually led to whatever progress we have today. It shaped up who we are and what we are today.

Like I think that it’s sad how people opt to just be on their phones and browse thru social media instead of talking to whomever else is in the room but at the same time social media made it possible for us to connect with others around the world who like the same things that we do and to build a community who contributes to that very thing, we’re connected to our family and friends easily and affordably which makes everything much easier and simpler. A small (small?) sacrifice.

Cigarettes/Tobacco/Smoking – if I’d have to sacrifice one thing for the benefit of many, this would be it. I’m betting that a lot of great business deals and good conversations were made among friends and business partners with a few drinks and a couple of sticks. The tobacco companies then grew to empires which in turn created lots of job opportunities for everyone and contributed a great deal to the growth of the economy. BUT from a medical point of view, smoking’s also one of the leading causes of cancer and a lot more health complications which quite frankly not everyone can afford to pay for.

Admittedly, I’ve been a smoker for a long time, I’m on my way to quitting since I’m down to two sticks from my one pack per day. I’ve had my fair share of meaningful conversations and new connections made possible by just simply having the same vice as the other person. I know it might sound shallow but other smokers know what I’m talking about.

So if there’s one thing that I could eliminate, that’d be it.

Then again, vices are like Hydra; “cut off one head and two more shall take it’s place”.
