HOLEY Moley – just holes not moles

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Embrace the Ick.”

a.k.a. Trypophobia

I have it and it’s real. Seriously.

I have this unexplainable aversion to hole-y things, especially those that look like this. Like something’s gonna crawl out of them.

I have nothing against this picture per se, I just wanted to show y’all what kind of holes I’m talking about. If you shimmy over to the photographer’s page, you’d see he has great photos. And just to be clear, I do not own this particular photo.

Even when you press your palms a little too long on those stony pavement and it leaves hole-like marks on them. UGH.

But okay, challenge SORT OF accepted.

HOLES are your new best friend!

Have you ever heard of the phrase “Hole in the wall”?

It’s typically a low key place that you’ve probably passed by and never noticed and it offers great finds. Not necessarily things but you know, great music, good food, or just a very homey feel.

Imagine everyone poking a hole everywhere and stuffing it with mini surprises! Wouldn’t that be great? That at every turn you would find an irregularly shaped hole with a prize.

Okay. Holes aren’t a great topic after all. It’s starting to have double meaning and I just noticed.

Admittedly, not my best work but I think this prompt is challenging and it’s good to face your fears.
