Someone Else’s Island

In response to The Daily Post’s writing prompt: “Someone Else’s Island.”

It’s 2am and I get a call from my best friend’s brother saying that he hasn’t been back from his boating trip. My best friend the explorer, always does the most curious things. It’s not out of character for him to disappear for days on end, and see him out of the blue with the most ludicrous tales. A couple of days passed and we received a letter written on a banana leaf delivered by a seagull no less. The letter was supposedly from him saying that there’s no need to worry and that he’s completely safe, also requesting we send him a few things which we’re supposed to tie to a raft and let it float away. Stranger things have happened but indeed this would definitely be on my top 5. We scramble to get him things he might need like food and water, camping gear and tools for building.  As the raft was about to sail, I put my ipod on a waterproof container and tucked it in our modestly wrapped package knowing that music will bring him home. or you know, make him want go home and charge. 😉
